Portus House - the home of the civic association Život 90, is situated in the Old Town of Prague in a beautiful historical building. It is the biggest community center for elderly people in the Czech Republic providing educational programes, theatre performances, ceramics and other art courses, memory training, PC and internet lessons to name a few of the services. In addition to these activities is the Respite and Rehabilitation Center, Distress Care Service (AREÍON) and Information center for elderly people and their families including free telephone "Help Line".
Domov Sue Ryder offers its clients a loving and peaceful enviroment with complete nursing and social care. This care seeks to respect the uniqueness of every person while facilitating a high quality of life. The Home offers accommodation similar to a social welfare institution, personal assistance in the clients' homes as well as counseling for both seniors and the general public.
The Bethesda project assumes as independent and active life as possible combined with care according to the health conditions of individuals. Project goals are to create a home for those who have problems with frailty in older age, illness and handicap and do not have an adequate family support. Also as part of the project spiritual care and fellowship are available for those who desire it so as to live as dignified and independent life as possible.
The centre offers short-term accommodation and a day care
facility for individuals suffering from dementia or who may ‘at risk’
through chronic conditions, limited mobility and living and care
arrangements. The Centre’s surgery ward provides health care to
residents living in the Prague 8 city district in old people’s homes.
The Home for the Elderly provides fully serviced and furnished long-term (permanent) accommodation with preparation and provision of meals (ordinary and diabetic diets), small shopping service, assistance with common self care, and social advisory services.
The Diaconia home offers services to clients
suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and other forms
of dementia. It is also home for seniors who have a
reduced ability to take care of their basic life needs
