Mr Jody Kollapen
Mr. Jody Kollapen formerly the Commissioner of the South African Human Rights Commission and now Acting High Court Judge in Pretoria will present a key address on Strengthening the Rights of Older People in the plenary session Older People and Development.
Prior to joining the Commission in 1996, Mr Kollapen was a member of Lawyers for Human Rights and coordinated the "release political prisoners" program. He has worked on important cases such as Sharpeville Six, the Delmas Treason Trial, and the failure of the Medical and Dental Council to enquire into the behavior of the doctors who treated Steve Biko.
